5 Reasons Your Beautiful Website Has No Traffic

5 Reasons Your Beautiful Website Has No Traffic.

5) You have no SEO campaign.
If you don’t know what SEO is, odds are your website is completely failing to help your web business or operation. Search Engine Optimization is a strategic attempt to get your website indexed by Google,Yahoo, Bing, MSN, Youtube, etc. These search engines account for the vast majority of all searches on the internet. Do you know what all these websites have in common? They all index millions of new URLs everyday, and if they can’t find your site at all, it’s because there’s not enough SEO to get you recognized. You will need to think about keywords, you will have to consider linking with other websites, and you should definitely create a sitemap if your site doesn’t already have one. If things sound unfamiliar, then maybe you’re best place to start is an instructional video that provides a great overview of SEO.

4) Too Much Advertisement.
It’s important to think about the structure of your web based business before launching an SEO campaign. How exactly is your website going to be funded? Some webmasters will use virtually free ad programs such as Google adwords to “monetize” their site. Others will link themselves to as many relevant and related sites as possible. Although these things are both good for SEO, they are terrible for your actual visitors. If people that visit your website can’t figure out what you’re selling, or they see too many links irrelevant to them, they will most likely get confused or annoyed and bounce off of your site. Keep the main thing that your selling clear and allow your visitors to feel like they’ve found a wealth of specific information that they’ve searched for and you’ll begin to create a loyalty that’s vital.

3) Your Product is Unnecessary.
People don’t always consider the speed of the times we live in when they venture out into the business world. Even a few years ago, marketing strategies bear little resemblance to the ones of today, the biggest difference is accessibility. Paper magazines, recorded music and advertising by mail are three great examples of industries that have shifted greatly to the Internet. Paying attention to real trends is important to understanding what people are willing to pay for. Few People are willing to pay for something they believe they can find somewhere else for free, or for less money so be realistic when putting a product or a service out there. For every successful website there are at least dozens that imitate or fail to compete because they were the last to arrive. Originality and timing are vitally important to an ever evolving market.

2) You Have Zero Fresh Content
Okay, so your website is perfectly designed and Search Engine Optimized but you still can’t get indexed, what gives? If your website hasn’t been updated in while, it could be because search engine spiders haven’t found anything new on your site worth indexing. You’ll notice the highest ranking searches on Google turn up websites with fresh daily blog posts, or articles and videos from as early as an hour ago! These are the sites that are the most up to date and therefore they are the most relevant. You don’t need updates every 30 seconds to get attention, but you should think about adding new content daily or weekly. It’s a great place to add keywords, links and other SEO tidbits that will continue to boost the relevance of your homepage.

1) You Don’t Believe in Social Media.
The past decade has really left many people confused about how easy it is to interact on the internet. The reason it is so confusing is because every major website has become ‘socialized’ with profiles, customization, and the ability to connect with others on the same site. This simple revolution has given birth to free advertisement that can reach millions of people with little effort. If you don’t believe in Facebook or Twitter for your personal life that’s fine, but if you haven’t attached it to your business then you’re the one who is confused. You simply won’t compete in the future of web commerce or SEO rankings if you shut the easiest and cheapest markets to reach. Twitter can connect with people from around the world without knowing them, and Facebook is already connecting millions of people from all circles of life. The question isn’t why do you need to make your Homepage social media friendly, the question is why haven’t you done it yet?

Website Review: www.Findyavegas.com

Dear Webmaster,

I took a brief look at your website http://www.findyavegas.com
and I have some comments you may want to consider to optimize your site in the future.

1) Do you have a list of Keywords? I would first recommend selecting about 15 keywords that you consider the most accurate "search terms" for your business. I also did a search through Google Adwords using their free Keyword Tool for findyavegas.com. You can try it yourself here at: Google Adwords Keyword Tool

Here's are a few keywords that I would suggest working into your website as much as possible in the form of links, written content, and labels/tags. Since you are heavily into the Spanish speaking market as well, simply translate those English terms to Spanish and then you've got 10 very good very keywords in two languages.

Suggested Search Terms:
Las Vegas Mortgage
Las Vegas Lending
Las Vegas Loans
Las Vegas NV Mortgage
Las Vegas Mortgage Planning

2) Your website is very attractive, it's streams nicely and it's not cluttered with Ads, or wasted space. However, it will not be indexed highly by Google for several reasons.

To understand why please take a look at this website, it's one of your competitors:
http://www.lasvegascustomloans.com/

If you look at the first page, you will notice there are many many links, and all of those links are actually keywords like "Las Vegas Mortage" Or "Las Vegas Loan." It may seem like there's too much writing on the first page, but that is actually what makes it so highly ranked on Google. Keywords on the first page are very important, but linked keywords are even better. You'll also see those keywords are placed at the top, Center, and bottom of the page. This is where Google recognizes keywords the most effectively.

*note: I noticed on your http://findyavegas.com/interactive-search section, its a dead end page that doesn't work. This would be a great tool if it works but if not I would remove it completely. Web pages that are 'under construction' or not working properly will have the opposite effect you want when it comes to Google, Yahoo, and MSN, etc.

3) There are many places you can submit your website. Directories and other "Niche" Websites can give you vital links and back-links that make your business look more important in the eyes of search engines. Here's an example of a directory that your above competitor is already linked to: http://www.nextdir.com/submit.php - If you like simply click on that link and submit your site to that directory and it will be a small start.

4) Part of SEO means social networking with facebook, twitter, linkedin, etc. I strongly suggest to at least have a twitter account because it's a great lead into your blog/website.

If you'd like to take the next step we can discuss in detail what kind of content that you'd like to add to your site. I noticed you wrote a blog as well that's an excellent step in the right direction, it's a great place to post 'viral' type content that will draw traffic to your site.

Anyway, take your time and think about what you may want for your site and if you need more ideas I'll be happy to meet with you and go over a plan that will at least start to optimize your site. Thanks again for clearing up my questions and meeting with me today, I'll be in touch. Take Care!

Sincerely,

Mark Marino

Viral Videos of May 2011

Viral Videos of May 2011

These Jimmy Kimmel bits each caught quite a few views, cashing in the Obama and Osama events that took place earlier in the month and last month. This is a great example of why timing is important for videos to go viral.

This Viral Video marketing Videos also explain why Viral Videos can tap a new source of traffic to your web based business.

Ultimate Dog Tease

This silly dog voice over may look easy, but really does demonstrate unique communication bonds between man and beast. Animals are a common theme in Viral Videos that do well, but there really must be something uniquely appealing or overly cute. Not every Viral Video should include animals, but keep in mind why they work. Short, immediately amusing, and universally appealing.

Evolution of Dance

This video is very long dance performance featuring a quirky man who perfectly performs the the steps from of our most popular music choices of the past 50 years. Very funny funny stuff, but people don't have time for long-winded amusement, which is why short cute animal videos do.

The above videos video cost almost Zero dollars to produce and it has over 26 million views worldwide. That's an extremely capital intensive way to advertise.

Lessons Before Blogging

     By Mark Marino

For whatever it’s worth, there is a lot to say about what’s happening on the internet right now. Term’s like, WEB 2.0, and SOCIAL MEDIA have become collegiate level subjects with an entire system of constantly evolving sites and services attached.

In fact things are moving so fast, that inexperience is actually a positive thing. Understanding these changes are not just important to bloggers and content writers, but also about business in general. Yes owners of today can get away with not knowing what a “tweet,” or a “Wiki” is, but the days of being successful while ignoring the internet are quickly coming to a close.

5) Everyone Business Site Needs Content If you’re trying to figure out how writing in a blog translates to paycheck (or at least some numbers in your PAYPAL account besides zero,) it starts with the FACT that all business driven websites need content to stay competitive. If you no nothing else about blogging, or the subject matter that you’re blogging about, you can still make a good pitch by getting a potential paying webmaster to understand that without content other sites with content will get more attention.

4) SEO Means Relevance.
Do you know how to make your website or web based business as effective as possible? Experts will tell you it needs to get Search Engine Optimized which is a complicated way of saying that websites need a variety of tweaks to create relevance. These adjustments start with the written words on a website but they also venture to include many aspects of coding and website design. From the writers’ standpoint, you need to worry about KEYWORDS and also having a keen ability to actually write within a given topic.

3) The Key to Writing is Reading.
If you’ve run out of subjects to write about, or if you have a subject already that you’re drawing blanks on, than it could be time just to hit the library and suck up a few new articles. I would actually recommend getting as far away from distractions on the internet as possible and then returning with a fresh mindset. Many books and published material is being churned out to deal with the speed of the Web 2.0 evolution are available for free and deserve to be appreciated for real expert insight.

2) Put it in Writing.
For everyone you work for, even if the work is unpaid or you’re performing intern work you should open up an excel file and record the hours you’ve worked. Having a record of the assignments you’ve completed with corresponding dates can only help. Professional freelancers don’t play around with the work they’ve completed. Full time contracted writers have only one source of income and every minute has value, so every wasted minute can get expensive. Speaking of contracts, whenever possible, get your webmaster to sign off on your assignments. Established writers can get away with this part a little easier, but contracts are great because they assure the original pay and given assignments are fulfilled, no more and no less.

1)
Have Patience with Webmasters
Webmasters are often finicky people, they always have the bottom line in mind and getting them there with your content alone isn’t always going to pan out. Some businesses think they know more than they do, some know more than they need to, and others expect you to know everything they don’t. The key is to be patient, always listen, don’t burn bridges and if you do decide it’s time to move on. They key to everything happening on the internet is about engagement, because there is value in getting people engaged into a particular URL. There is an entirely new demand for strangers to collaborate online and building a strong reputation as a writer can very easily lead to more work. The opposite is also true however one bad experience could mean that businesses are talking about you negatively. In that case the positive aspects of social networking can work against you. A little patience can be the difference between losing a job and getting paid much longer.

*Remember to be an expert on the writing end of it, and you’ll never have to take full responsibility for the well being of the actual website or service, that is simply not your problem, but it wouldn’t hurt to show a little concern for the sake of being a team player.
Talking to webmasters directly is also an educational experience no matter what the outcome. Good Luck!

Technical Writing Trends in 2010 has become a Great Niche According to Yahoo

This little piece of writing further illustrates the need for new types of writers. Below is an excerpt from an article recently posted on yahoo.com. The title of the article is:

"High-Paying, Low-Stress Jobs" - 5 ways to earn big bucks without major stress."

5. Technical writer
In this high-tech age, new groundbreaking tools, mobile devices, and innovative gadgets are released on practically a daily basis. Obviously, someone has to write about these ingenious doodads and complicated thingamabobs. That's where technical writers come into play.

Although they sometimes face tight deadlines, technical writers typically enjoy flexible hours and a comfortable, quiet workspace. Quite a few of them have an enviable 10-second commute--from their bedrooms to their desks. Because all they need is a phone and a computer with an Internet connection, many technical writers work from home.

What's more, technical writers are in extremely high demand. As technical companies continue to release pioneering new products, someone has to transform their complex technical-ese into everyday language the average customer can comprehend. Technical writers generally earn between $47,000 and $98,000 a year.
"

- Source YAHOO.COM,
by Amy Bell, Investopedia.com

This is great  news for writers. I've posted other articles from yahoo about the resurgence of journalism on the internet, technical writing is now more popular than ever. There are many successful "gadget" based blogs and most of them are advertised directly to net savvy individuals.

Isn't it interesting that the same people using the latest gadgets first are blogging and then getting paid for it? The occupation of Technical Writer has breached top five jobs because of it's complete lack of stress combined with potential for high pay.

As for niche writing, this is a perfect example of how knowing one specific topic well enough automatically has value. In the past you would have to get hired to write about something very specific such as an ipad or an HD Camcorder. Today, people don't bother fishing through physical pages for much, they get their answers not from the paid experts, but from reliable word of mouth posted in relevant forums like blogs, community bulletin boards, social networking sites, etc.

People are free to judge for themselves which reviews are credible on the internet. In the field of
gadgets and technical writing, it's very difficult to plagiarize or fake knowing more than you do. Readers who own or have examined the products will likely know it better than you unless you extremely educated on your niche. This is what real journalists call a "beat," which is really just an old fashioned way of referring to your area of expertise, good journalists have multiple fields they can be consulted on.

Technical Writing also means having some cash to spend on gadgets, or at least a few friends who work at Radio Shack. Accessibility to resources is a major factor in blogging. For those who wish to explore areas of writing that are new, I would first suggest that you look in your own backyard for something that you might already be an expert on. If you have a craft, trade, job, or a passion that you consider yourself an expert on, then you might already have all the niche writing you need. To actually get paid you simply need to connect with the forums that NEED relevant writing whether it's technical writing or otherwise. Either way, getting paid to write quickly and productively is the ultimate goal for freelancers and bloggers of all levels. This article is positive sign that even more opportunity is on the horizon with new and valuable technical writing niches that are still undiscovered.

Amazon has over the years become the quintessential go-to website for books, movies, DVDs, and all kinds of other entertaining and useful media!  For bloggers of all sorts this is a simple and new way to monetize, especially through blogger.com.

Spider Simulator

Still Not sure what a "spider" is? The term web crawler is synonymous with spider here referring to the "bots" that are constantly walking the internet and indexing new sites.

Spiders are the Key to getting traffic to your site, because if a spider doesn't recognize your SEO efforts, or your site isn't being recognized at all, then you simply won't get indexed. Web designers traditionally have looked to making their web sites as user-friendly as possibly. Although this is a positive for the user, usability isn't the owners primary concern when trying to run any type of web-based-business.

The most important thing to think about before writing content, or coding one for a website, is that...

Written text alone is what generates a spiders interest, and that's it! Keywords should be picked and placed in as many relevant places as possible for easy recognition by all spiders, especially Google.

If you'd like to test how your site is currently performing with the big search engines, a SPIDER SIMULATOR can show where improvements can be made, or give light to some more qualified keywords.

Why Are Blogs Useful in the Web 2.0 Era?

What most people are just beginning to understand, is that the internet is morphing into something brand new to all of us in new ways. What people have come to term Web 2.0 is referencing a very simple idea on a massive and complex scale.

What most people don't understand about the task of Google, is that they have taken control of organizing the internet, and because everything is on the internet, that means everything has to be organized. That needs to be said in different way to emphasize how much everything actually is. Look around the room, every object in view has been categorized by Google, and clustered to hundreds of thousands of websites deemed relevant  in specific order.

Without understanding anything about Search Engine Optimization, you can basically summarize the entire task by saying optimization means making your website more relevant.

Key Factors in Googles' algorithm for site indexing include:

- Keyword Density - How many times do Specific Keywords Appear within text?
- Keyword Placement - Where specifically do keywords appear on a given website?
- Freshly Written - Is your content recent? Updated? Well written? About Keyword related subjects?
Web 2.0 - Is your site user friendly? Simple navigation, feeds, email, networking, comments, quick-links?
- Site Map - Easy Breakdown of site URL's for smooth indexing. (This is coding not writing.)
- Backlinking - How many relevant websites are linked to you. How many of them are one way links?
- Anchor Text - Use of keywords in hyperlinks often without keyword stuffing or becoming a link-farms.

There are many other factors and nuances of factors that Search Engine Crawlers consider before indexing. Conversely the competitive webmasters in the 2.0 era  are building sites based each of these factors.

That also means that there is a sudden boom and need for
Fresh Relevant Content about keyword specific topics. The value in real writing has come full circle from print to the internet and suddenly journalism has evolved into something much faster, more accessible, and easier to syndicate.
Content writers, freelance or otherwise, now have a new value in saving the webmasters valuable time. Most coders, ironically, are not great writers, let alone great copy-writers. The value for the writer in the 2.0 era is sudden profitability in short steady bursts. The great news is you can become an expert on anything and get paid for it with basic writing ability.

The biggest factor to consider is that web crawlers look for text and text only. Fancy dynamic sites with Java, Flash, images, and media are very user friendly, but as far as relevance to Google, only what's written will  determine your website's relevance. That's why all images  and videos should be accompanied by subtitles and captions with targeted keywords.

In summation, blogs are useful in this sense as well. Although blogs are really considered dynamic sites, they offer many of the other satisfying elements of a good website. WordPress, and Blogger aim to be the most easy to grasp and beneficial blog hosting sites. They take the mindset that blogging software whether self hosted or on-line can act like a content management system for a website. Blogs offer everything a great website can offer at it's base. They are user friendly, easy to index and link to, and blogs can build a following of networked subscribers over time.

Even if blogging seems like a waste of time, marketing past the year 2010 will live and die on the internet. Marketing plans will have more often have to start with a website and everything else will follow in stride.
If you can get your website indexed in the top 2 pages of Google for your business keywords, you stand to increase your business over 500%. That's because Google web searches account for roughly 80% of all the searches on the internet. Yahoo, Bing, and the rest of the like compete for what's left, the general rule is aim to make Google happy, and the rest will catch up.

The task of organizing everything has taken some time, but there is definite opportunity for copy writers, bloggers, webmasters, and entrepreneurs to help blaze along the business new frontier of "searchability". Those brave pioneers might even find themselves getting paid.
