For amateurs like myself who claim to be talented writers with almost no technical skills, there is a tool out there I must recommend. You see the modern world is getting away from print and posting everything real time on line. The prevalence of the internet age is undeniable, especially in the web 2.0 era. Or how about a good solid tutorial with code break downs and no time wasted on pop ups!
Of all the languages you can spend a lifetime learning. HTML is perhaps the most important for it's universal understanding and it's simple structure. PHP, XHTML, FLASH, JAVA and many other coding tools play of the basic HTML to create a world of dynamic business-centralized websites.
That doesn't mean go out and learn HTML code all the way, but know a few good generators like:
